Memorial Day Fun

Of course, we all know what Memorial Day means. A day to remember all the men and women who have dedicated their lives to serving our country. These people are amazing. I was explaining to Lindsey this morning about what it means to have a Memorial Day. She was so cute saying that she knows someone in the Army - our good friend, John Williams, who is actually in Iraq right now. Then I went on to tell her about those in my family who have served in the past. Both my granddad's were in the armed forces, one in the Army and one in the Air Force. She thought that was really cool to know too. By this time, though, she was getting bored so we stopped there (sorry Blasingame family, we didn't get to talk about you) but we did chose her jean shorts that have red, silver (white) and blue fireworks on them. So adorable!

Then came dressing Reagan. Lindsey was given this really cute red, white, and blue outfit when she was an infant and I was sad that Reagan wouldn't be able to wear it for July 4th but today works just as well. So, here is Reagan in the cutest Patriotic outfit ever (in my opinion!)

We have a picture kinda like this of Lindsey - if I had a scanner I would share it with you. Guess you'll just have to come over and see the hard copy in our photo album!Reagan decided she doesn't like the feel of the grass. She was trying to keep her legs up off of it - she almost fell over a couple times.
Then Daddy saved her so she was all grins!
Another great thing about Memorial Day for us was daddy was home! Yea!!! Lindsey was really excited when I told her yesterday that he didn't have to go to work. She thought he would have to go into the office because it was a Monday. Nope, not today! We got to have him home all day with us (which is good because tomorrow he leaves to go to Pensacola again for the rest of the week). So we started the morning pretty late hanging out at home a little. Then we went shopping some because who doesn't go shopping on a holiday? Robert then decided that he would like either bar-b-que or a hamburger for lunch since that is what you are supposed to have on Memorial Day. I don't usually pick bar-b-que if given a choice, so I said burgers! And then we decided to get them from The Firehouse. Those of you who live in Abilene - yum! It is actually a bar but they make delicious burgers. We called in the order and took our food to the park. We also called in our friends the Voss' to go with us. Always so much fun!

Well, being the horrible mother that I am, Reagan had never been in a swing. So we took full advantage of today with the beautiful weather and went swinging. She had a blast! Here are a few of the pictures I took.
The first shot - yes, that is a smile!I like this one because of the beautiful blue sky (and the little girl is pretty cute, too!)Toward the end of swinging, she was all balled up in the swing. She was loving it!
