The Last of the Birthday Celebrations

This past Saturday we had the last of Reagan's birthday parties. My family was in town and came over for the fun. And this time, my camera was in the hands of my cousin Jenni. She did a great job and even took more pictures than Jeremy from the party on Sunday. Jeremy had taken 77 pics and Jenni took 89. Wow - Reagan has lots of pictures to document turning one!

My mom and her sister had a lamb cake for their first birthdays. My brother, two cousins, and myself all had a lamb cake for our first birthdays. And now the third generation is having a lamb cake for their first birthdays. Not only cute - but really yummy too!
This is the look of "are you really making me do this again?"
The candle is lit which means tears are coming!
See!
What a face!
She did touch it this time around though. She would pat it and then try to get the icing off her hand.
Jenni wasn't quite quick enough to get a picture of Reagan standing.
Robert had been making fun of my mom and the way she was decorating the cake so he was the first to get a piece of the lamb. And here is what she gave him...
Now, on to opening presents. A gift from Heather and Phillip and Emily. They weren't able to be here but sent a gift anyway. We missed you guys!
I apparently was excited to get this gift. A CD player that sings nursery rhymes and the ABC's.
See, forget Reagan, look how happy I am!
Reagan is opening the gift from a friend and I am listening to the explanation about it. The husband, Austin, picked it out and it was a book of nursery rhymes with Spanish translation. Pretty funny!
Here is what the wife, Ashley, got for Reagan. Sorry Austin, I liked the dress better!
And Reagan got a nursery rhyme book with CD. I think I see a theme of nursery rhymes here.
Opening the present from Blake, Lianne, and Andrew.
Lindsey made this necklace for Robert to wear out of the pop beads Reagan got.
Definitely one of the most favorite gifts she has gotten so far. She plays with them all the time.
Mimi reading the nursery rhyme book with both my girls.
Here is the only picture of Jenni that we got. That happens when she is the one taking the pictures. Trust me, I know. It happens to me all the time.
Here are my grandparents that were able to come to Reagan's party. My granddad is my mom's dad. He will be 97 in August. And this is my grandmother, my dad's mom. She lives in Fort Worth and came in town with my brother and his family.
Reagan with her great aunt and uncle, Lana and James.
Our friends, Austin and Ashley. They will be going with us to Jamaica next month.
Finally a picture of Andrew. He was interested in helping Reagan "break in" her new stuff.
Happy birthday, Reagan! I can't believe you are already one - time sure does fly!

Presents from Mom, Dad, and Lindsey

Last night for Reagan's birthday we went to Bonzai (Robert is convinced that is what Reagan said she wanted for her birthday dinner). We came home and did the cake and ice cream thing again. This time Reagan ate a few bites, got some on her face and hand, and then promptly broke out wherever the food was. Fun times!
Opening presents - yea, she is tearing the paper.
Trying to see what is inside.
She was fading fast. I guess clothes aren't that exciting to a one year old!
A small burst of energy for more gifts.
She was really excited to open Lindsey's gift. Can you tell?
She kept giving the ball kisses. Too cute!
And then she was tired again. But still didn't want to let go of the ball.

Reagan is Twelve Months Old!

Happy Birthday to Reagan!!!!!! I can't believe that she is already one. This year has truly gone by so quickly. She is such her own person and such a happy girl. We are so blessed!

Each year, on Lindsey's birthday, I try to take a picture of her when she first wakes up. So here is Reagan's first picture on her first birthday. She really was happy on her birthday, you just can't tell in the picture.
Here are two pictures in the famous chair. She has grown so much!
What a great smile!

Reagan's First 1st Birthday Party

Yep, you read it right. This is Reagan's first birthday party for her first birthday. Since we had lots of changes this summer with several family members moving, we decided for this year only to have two parties for Reagan. We did this so that everyone could be here for a party.

This past Sunday we had a birthday party with Robert's family. Barbara, Robert's older sister, got married earlier this summer and moved to Boston but was going to be here this past weekend. Our friends, the Voss', also came to the party and Jeremy took the pictures for me. He took 77 pictures so be very glad that I narrowed it down to these 15 pictures.

Before the craziness started.
The family.
We lit the candle, she looked at us, looked at the candle, and then proceeded to cry.
Reagan was looking at us like we were crazy expecting to her to eat the cake.
Even when Robert tried she wouldn't open her mouth for the cake.
We thought maybe she would eat a little bit of ice cream or cake if I held her. We were wrong.
She did enjoy opening presents though. And she really liked that Aunt Marilyn's (and Bryan and Kimberly) gift matched the party colors!
Opening some of Aunt Barbara's gifts.
Lindsey got to help with the gift from Nana and Pops.
Back to the cup from Aunt Marilyn!
A new book from the the Voss'.
Looking at everyone looking at her.
Reagan liked the gift from Grandma and Granddaddy.
Just a cute shot of the birthday girl!
Seven wanted to help play with all the new stuff.
I have video of the cake and the crying. I am hoping Robert will help me figure out how to put it on here so you can all enjoy it too. The next party with my family will be on Saturday. Maybe we will get some pictures of Reagan actually enjoying eating the cake. Keep your fingers crossed!
