Our First of Many Oklahoma Trips

On Sunday, the 12th, my parents, my kids, and I made the trip up to Edmond, OK to move my parents there. Yes, very sad. But while we were there we were able to have some fun along with working (a little) on getting their new house organized.
Sunday night, took Lindsey (and her friends, Piper and Finn) to VBS at Edmond C of C. They also went each night through Wednesday night.
Monday, the girls and I shopped while Mom and Dad signed papers.
Tuesday, the movers came.
Wednesday, we went to the OKC Zoo with some friends (more on that to come).
Thursday, we went and walked around Oklahoma Christian University where my dad will be working. That night we ate at Coach's which, according to my dad, has the best onion rings in the world! (I couldn't resist putting that in here, Dad!) After dinner, we drove through the University of Central Oklahoma, where my mom will be working.
Then Friday morning before leaving we went out just a little bit on the original Route 66 to Pop's. Such a neat place. You should try to make it out there if you are ever in the area.

Ok, about the Zoo. The week that we were in OK also happened to be the week that the middle schoolers from our church went to Camp Cornerstone at OC. So, with Jeremy being the youth minister, his family also was in OK. We had looked on line and saw that on Wednesday's in July and August it was Way Back Wednesday at the OKC Zoo. That meant that all admission was $.75 each. Also, small drink, popcorn and hot dogs were also $.75 each. So we thought that it would be fun for Amy and her kids and me and mine to go to the Zoo. We knew it would be hot but decided that we would go for just a few hours in the morning. Almost a good idea except that fact that it was in the nineties when we got there just after ten. Oh, well, maybe we sweat some pounds off. What do you think, Amy?

Reagan conked out pretty soon after getting to the zoo that day.

After we took this picture, my dad said she should have a scared look on her face and not a smile. But she didn't want to take another picture. This one is cute though.

My dad had gone to get the van and we were waiting. This was the end of the zoo visit and it is a good thing. Just look at how happy Lindsey is!

July the Fourth

We got back from our trip to Colorado to a busy schedule. The fourth was that Saturday and we had plans for the entire day. First a birthday party for Lindsey's friend, Finn. It was a swimming party so she loved it. Then we went to our friends, the Dickison's, house for lunch and swimming there too. After that we came home for quick naps and then out to our friends, the Moody's, house for dinner and fireworks. Needless to say, we were a bit tired after that day was over.

This is Finn's birthday cake. His dad thought he would be funny and make a little play on words from the movie Star Wars. I found it pretty humorous.Lindsey and Reagan swimming at the Dickison's with Daddy and Jordan.Reagan became very attached to their chlorine dispenser. (Don't worry there wasn't any chlorine in it at the time.) And yes, Reagan is almost asleep in this picture.Each year we are invited to our friends house, the Moody's, for a cookout dinner and fireworks. However, this year, a storm was blowing in and they weren't able to do the fireworks. (And then all the guys had to load up the fireworks that were already out and ready to be set off.) When I told Lindsey that instead of fireworks we would go to Piper and Finn's house all she said was, "At least it will be quieter!"

Colorado - Days Four and Five

Now, finally, for the last two days of our trip to Colorado. Sorry it has taken so long to finish our trip. Here it goes.....

We didn't think to take this picture while Blake, Lianne and Andrew were there (sorry guys!) But this one turned out pretty good.

And this is the morning of our last day in Colorado. So sad to leave such a great place and such great family.

Colorado - Day Three

To start our third day in Colorado, our three groups (my family, my parents, and my brother's family) went and did our own things. Our family decided to go on another hike. This time to Treasure Falls. Lindsey actually decided that for us. She had seen pictures from two years ago when we went on that same hike and wanted to do it again.

We saw lots of chipmunks on these trails and Lindsey wanted to name them all "Pip" from the movie Enchanted.

I took this picture from the bridge over the water. Robert and the girls were up on the observation level, closer to the falls. The picture is actually in focus. The blurriness is from the water spray.

They came back down so that we could continue the hike a little further.
