2 Parties and 2 Months

We had a busy weekend. First of all, we went to Frisco to see Jimmy, Carissa, Brielle, and baby Brennon. Brielle and Lindsey are one month apart and Brennon and Reagan are only five days apart. It was a fun time together. Saturday, Lindsey (all the rest of us too) went to Brielle's 4th birthday party. It was at Eagle Gymnastics where Brielle goes for lessons each week. Brielle let Lindsey borrow a leotard and Lindsey loved it. She had so much fun and is now asking for her own leotard. Here are some pictures - I will apologize in advance, they are blurry. It is hard to take pictures of a moving target.
I love that last picture - that is the "I didn't take a nap today and then played really hard" look!

When we got back on Sunday, it was time for another birthday party. And yes, it was another gymnastics party. No leotard this time though. We went to Gymnastics Sports Center for Kyley's (a friend from church) birthday.
Now for Reagan. She is two months old now. And so here is the picture I took of her in our chair on Sunday (the 21st). I also wanted to add a picture of Brennon and Reagan. We have a picture almost identical of Brielle and Lindsey when they were one and two months old.

A Week of First's

School started on Tuesday for Lindsey. The morning could have gone better but unfortunately it didn't. First of all, Lindsey was bitten by fire ants on Monday. Apparently she reacts very badly to bug bites. Her feet were swollen and red and very itchy. We coped as well as we could on Monday - no shoes on her feet and we were very careful not to touch them. Well, you have to wear shoes to school and that was a very bad thing. The shoes rubbed her bites and hurt. So that made her and everyone else getting ready miserable. I was able to get a pretty cute first day of school picture though. Notice her red feet and that she doesn't have her shoes on yet!
Another first that has happened this week is Reagan took her first bottle. We don't plan on using a bottle unless absolutely necessary but it is nice to know that she will take one. It did take a while to figure out the best position for Robert to hold her. She was not fooled when he was holding her cradle-like. She did not want the bottle. Then her put her down on his legs and she seemed to like it a bit better that way. Lindsey even got a chance to feed her. That was fun to see. She did a great job but lost interest quickly.
We also are very excited that Reagan is sleeping longer at night. (And, no, I do not have a picture of that.) She is going to bed around 10:30 or so and sleeping until 5:15ish. I know, not the longest night sleep that I have had but much better than before. This has happened twice so far. Keep your fingers crossed that it continues.

One Month Old

This may not be the prettiest picture but I am planning on taking a picture of Reagan each month on the 21st in our big chair. It will be neat to see how much she changes. This is the first! Taken on August 21st.
I tried and tried to get Lindsey to look at the camera but she was a little more interested in what was on the TV. Maybe next time, both Lindsey and Reagan will be looking in the same general direction. Maybe?

Announcement Pictures

So, a couple of weeks ago, Barbara and I took pictures of Reagan for her announcement. Here is what we got...(by the way, I have no idea why this is all underlined - sorry, I don't know how to fix it!)
And to think all these emotions happened in only ten minutes. You should have seen me and Barbara trying to keep Reagan still and happy and take all the pictures. It was interesting.

Hello again

Well, it has been a while since I posted last. I've been busy! We have been settling into a somewhat normal routine. At least, as normal as it can be for now. We eat, sleep, and repeat quite often during the day. And my hope is that it will also happen during the night too. Reagan is doing a great job of growing and keeping us on our toes. She is so much bigger already (at least we think so). Here is a picture of her sleeping in one of her favorite places.
I know it is weird that she enjoys her changing table so much but I guess it is comfortable. And don't worry, it is not up on a dresser or anything. It is much closer to the floor than that. I guess she likes it so much because the cover is super soft (thanks Blake and Lianne!)

More pictures of our playroom...and all the stuff in it.
We are working on finding blinds and/or some kind of curtain for the windows. We are also looking for a bookshelf for all the books that we have accumulated with Lindsey and now Reagan. We are also going to get my parents futon to put in the room for seating and sleeping, if needed. I have a mirror and picture frames to put up on the wall also. So for all the work that has been done, there is still more to do.

Pictures, Finally!

Well, I will start with the pictures of our newest addition - even newer than the playroom. Here is Reagan Dai...born Monday, July 21 at 9:26 am.
And here is big sister, Lindsey, holding Reagan in the hospital.

I can't believe she is here. I just posted about moving the toys into the playroom the night before she was born. We had planned to induce on the 5th of August (that gave me two more weeks to get things ready). But Reagan apparently had a plan of her own. We are so happy that she has joined our family and that she is happy and healthy.

Now for some pictures of the finished playroom and mess that went in there.

I thought that I had pictures of the new room with everything in it but I guess I don't. Something about being in the hospital for a few days last week has prevented that from happening. I will try to add those new pictures soon.

The Finished Room and the Mess to Go In It

Well, we are now finished with the playroom. We have had everything installed and inspected. The carpet is down and the fan is up. The touch-ups of paint were done on Wednesday night. We are so excited. I would love for you all to see it but for some reason the computer is not letting me post pictures right now. I have pictures of the finished room and the way too many toys in the living room. I will try to post them sometime soon, if the computer cooperates.

On Saturday, Robert and I had the chance to go through all of Lindsey's toys and sort them into piles. There was the pile to keep, the pile to give away or sale, and the trash (Robert's favorite pile!) Of course, Lindsey was not here for the initial throw away. But she did help once she came home and we got rid of even more toys and junk. Then Saturday night, we were able to move things out to the playroom. I was thrilled to get the mess out of the middle of the house and into its new home. I'm sure things will move again before they find their final resting spot but it is wonderful to see the changes. We still need a good bookshelf for all of the books we have accumulated, so if anyone knows of a great deal, let us know.

Now, Robert's job is to get up in the wonderfully cool attic and bring down the rest of the baby stuff (preferably before baby arrives). I'm sure he will jump for joy at that thought!
